My name is Jay Beddows. I have worked  in the construction industry in the Greater Victoria area for over  30 years and have 20 years experience in construction related Occupational Health and Safety Management.

I created South Island Safety Solutions in 2018. Previous to this, I successfully  developed, implemented and maintained the OH&S Program for one of British Columbia's largest and most successful roofing and building envelope companies over a period of 14 years.

My OH&S Education was obtained through the University of Calgary's Health, Safety and Environment Diploma Program. I am certified as a Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) through the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP).  I have also completed the British Columbia Institute of Technology's Construction Safety Officer (CSO) Program, and am a certified National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) through the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA). I am certified through the BCCSA as a COR External Auditor,  and am a Gold Seal Certified Construction Safety Coordinator (GSC-CSC) . I am also a certified instructor through 3M Safety Training for both Fall Protection and Confined Space training.and an ITA ticketed Journeyman Steep Slope Roofer.
